E-approved taillights with all functions integrated into one unit
Our replacement taillights for the Mustang incorporate all functions required by European regulations – stop/tail, amber indicators, rear foglight (both sides) and reversing lights on both sides.
Attractive appearance & perfect functionality
With their red/clear/red transparent lenses, our Mustang taillights look great too, and because all functions are included, additional reversing- and rear foglights slung under the bumper are no longer required. After all, do you really want to spend money on such a great looking car, and then spoil it all by tacking auxiliary lamps on to the back?
Converting the car’s existing lights can throw up other problems as well – most conversions use the reversing light aperture for the indicator function, replacing the clear bulb with an amber one and rewiring the cluster. This might pass an SVA test, but the light output really is borderline – the maximum Wattage bulb that can be fitted is 10 W, due to the physical size of the bulbholder & aperture, whereas all new cars use indicator bulbs rated at 21 W. The alternative is to enlarge the hole at the back of the aperture to fit a new bulbholder that can accept a bigger bulb, but because the aperture is so small, the additional heat generated by the bigger bulb could cause distortion or even melting of the plastic.
Do you really want to risk an accident because your car’s indicators were not visible to another motorist in bad weather because they weren’t bright enough…?
Original equipment quality
Our Mustang taillights are made to exacting original equipment quality levels, and they have been tested and approved to European standards. They are equivalent in quality to the original lights, so you can rest assured that you’re getting a top class product that you can rely on. ABCDesign pioneered the concept of performance lighting in the United Kingdom, and our products are acknowledged in the marketplace as being the benchmark for quality in this sector.
Easy installation
Installing our Mustang taillights is as easy as we can make it. The connector on the bulbholder plugs into the car’s wiring harness, enabling the reversing- and taillight functions.
As there is no foglight fitted at all for the American market, a wire has to be run from a switch on the dashboard to the taillights to provide a +12 V feed for the rear foglights, and our wiring harness incorporates a socket for this to be connected to.
Because of the nature of the wiring system on the Mustang, some changes will need to be made to get all the functions set up correctly. This applies regardless of whether the existing lights are modified or new lights fitted. It can only be undertaken by companies with the necessary technical knowledge of the car’s wiring system.
